New Year, New Look

Homemade Christmas Gifts!

Happy New Year! New Year is all about seeing out the old and bringing in the new and I have been meaning to give my blog (and my life!) a bit of an overhaul for a while. So I hope you like the cosmetic changes to the blog: I wanted something a little easier to navigate and a bit fresher. Content should stay broadly the same but I would love to try to integrate more of my thoughts and experiences. I sometimes struggle with sharing (and articulating) even some of the most simple things so it will be a good exercise for me!

I had originally envisaged this blog as having a craft element but it has become a baking blog: I’m hoping that I’ll be able to share some of my creative efforts this year outside the kitchen too. In the meantime I will keep practising! Since I started my blog I have been doing more and more baking, both for myself and for friends and family. It has even led to a new job so expect to see more desserts as I practice those and look for new ideas each month for my role as dessert chef. I would also like to develop my own baking as a business and once a few things in my life are resolved that might be a possibility too.

But on to more important things. Happy Birthday to my son, Linus, who is 9 today. He’s a New Year’s Day baby so he definitely brought in the new.

Happy Birthday Linus!

More of his birthday cake soon.

In the meantime, Happy New Year to you all and thank you for a wonderful year of blogging: both reading and writing. I can’t say often enough how much I enjoy writing my blog and reading other people’s. I have (virtually) met some really brilliant people and think of you as friends.

So here’s to another great year of blogging, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts as I have already changed the colours, fonts and background so many times I have lost count…

Cheers!
